I TOLD YOU AMA! You will love the second book! President Snow is one of my favorite literary bad guys.
Coolspy, no spoiler! I had qualms with the book not because of the ending (I thought it was rather clever) but the book in itself. Too short and too rushed. Not enough action.

No worries. I won't spoil anything but I just felt like the end was a cop out and as for the plot itself, i felt like by book 3, a little more could have been done to spice up the story, instead of making a rushed decision to simple recycle old ideas

I absolutely devoured book one! I just bought book two and am getting ready to read it...charging my nook. LOL This is reminding me of the Twilight series...I devoured all four books within 2 and a half weeks.
I feel so baaaad for Peeta!!! And I want to strangle Katniss, or at the very least smack her around a bit so she gets that she loves him!!!! God...some chicks are SO hard headed!
It's a disturbing story though...the society that puts up children to fight to the death. Scary...poor Rue.

MS...I luuuuv your new siggy! omgoodness that's sexy.... Also, I've read one of the Dragonriders of Pern stories...ages ago. Way back in high school, I think it was The White Dragon. I remember being very entertained...but don't know why I never picked up any of the other books. I remember being drawn away from the fantasy genre by the smutty romantic stuff (still love it too)...hehe. Perhaps it's time to pick up where I left off years ago.

Book two is pretty sweet. Much better battle field IMO.

Book two is pretty sweet. Much better battle field IMO. Agreed. I think book 1 was supposed to introduce the ides of the battle field and book 2 expanded gloriously. also, i love the opening ceremony choice of clothing/interview part

Oooooo! Do you know this totally interrupted my intention to read "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"? Not to mention I'm a quarter way through "A Game of Thrones", and several other books. lol I got pissed at thrones because I watched the series and they killed off Drogo!!! He was bad ass...and I loved the romance between him and Dani. Anyhoo...I'm starting book 2 tomorrow. Decided to give myself a breather...but now I'm a bit inclined to pick up the nook again. lol
