I must be very picky about art and the male form... I don't mean to turn this into a discussion on art and the sexulisation /imasculisation of the male form but c'mon Take the protagonist (below) from final fantasy II the fact that he bears a striking resemblence to my teenage son is probably part of why I find him unattractive in a sexual way, that said analysing the body language, the look in his eyes there just seems a lack of animal magnatism and athleticism about him he is of course every teenage girls dream and crush icon I know this guy isnt a "warrior" as such but at least he is viable, and looks like he will do some damage and actually could use a weapon, fight his way out of a wet paper bag and has a sexy stance. The cigarette packet in his sleeve and the butt he is toking on helps I guess. even actors today seem to have slender skinny chests and no shoulders. They are painted as effeminate. Why cant we glory in masculinity and the male form. now this guy looks like he would do the business, even though he isnt brandishing any weaponry this guy looks like he could be a greek/spartan warriorbut was actually advertising perfume! does anyone else feel this way or is it my quirky sense coming out again. I guess i just know what I like and what I dont and if they don't do it for me, they dont do it for me! *sighs, mutters and walks away*

I'm more for the Final Fantasy warrior than any of the others. I like my twinks.

eugh no ...
no! No! NO!
to twinks....
I want a man to look like a man, not a could be either or. I associate masculinity with strength and ferocity and competence. When I think "man", images of construction workers without shirts, rough and dirty, with tousled hair and still covered in the sweat of a day's hard work come to mind. (i'm talking buff here) exuding Pheremones!
The sexy man isn't one wearing make-up, with his hair done-up, wearing a speedo and giving the audience a wink. (although a nicely turned out man is indeed a delight to the senses)...
He's a knight with rough stubble on his cheek and fire in his eye. Or a barbarian warrior with wolfish hair and eyes, swirling tattoos over his body and blood staining his hands. Or he's the elegant aristocrat with gloved hands and menacing eyes. Shoulders: broad shoulders. Seeing a set of broad shoulders is an instant cue that you're seeing not only a man, but a particularly masculine man. I am fascinated with a man's chest and shoulders, which look very different from a woman's chest and shoulders. Hands: A man typically has large hands with rounded tips, while women often have smaller hands with tapered tips. There's nothing more delightful when his hand completely engulfs yours ... er hers. Literature often focuses on the touch and feel of a man's hand. Touch is a really important sense, you want to look at a mans hand and imagine what it would feel like for that hand to run itself over your body. Musculature: Men have more muscle than women, pound for pound. Thus, a muscled man is a masculine one. I'm not talking uber-body builders, like some of the fantasy art now depicts but a strong man with strong muscles (often accompanied by the words "sleek" and "predatory" and "tiger-like,") really does the job. Scent: women are pretty sensitive to scent, a bad smelling man is an instant turn off, but a man with clean fresh sweat or aftershave of some kind immediately awakens a woman. I want to imagine what he smells like that's why women will often smell the shirts of their husband while he's away, or wear the shirt "to feel near him", or roll over in bed when he's gone and hug the pillow where he laid not an hour before. The artwork has to appeal to all the senses not just sight, albeit imaginary. I want to know what his chest feels like, what his scent is like, what his voice sounds like, not just the color of his hair and eyes. There's other features that are important, and thats why a clothed leather armoured warrior often comes off as more erotic than a full frontal naked one. Eyes, hair, jaw, chin, there's alot more about a man that can be beautiful than just his ass.
And I sure dont want to see my man giving me a girlie flirty pouty look a la twinky up there!!!!
Just a matter of my opinion mind

I am what is considered a rarity - a true bisexual. I see nothing wrong with androgeny and metrosexuality. However, the final fantasy one looks like a boy, not like a man. Let him grow up for a few years. People look different as they mature. Case in point:
