Movies! Movies! I'm a fanatic, just like I am with books and thought it'd be fun to discuss and see who likes what. I'll suggest two movies...feel free to pick which you like, discuss or whatever. At the end of your post, chose two movies to present and we'll continue on. I know I'll catch flack for this but.....
Twilight or The Hunger Games?
hehehe!!!

THE HUNGER GAMES. Abominations that derive their origins from trashy, garbage collections of paper with poorly written words on them cannot stand up to the Hunger Games, even if they have yet to come out.
Pirates of the Caribbean or Terminator?

LOL! Awesome Max. I do like both, but think currently I would chose The Hunger Games over Twilight, amazingly enough. POTC of course!!! I absolutely love all of those movies...and though I love Rand dearly, she knows how much I love Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. LOL He is an A-mazing actor who portrayed his character soooo wonderfully. Friday the 13th or Halloween?

Can't use my Willy Wonka question so... Monty Python or Hangover?

Hangover definitely, but I've never seen Monty Phython so perhaps that's not a fair answer to the question. lol
Okay, here we go....
Star Trek or Star Wars?

No Monty Python? I encourage you to see it.
And no brainer.
STAR WARS. End of story.
I keep forgetting to ask my question.
Alien or Predator?

Gosh, I had thought I replied to this but then remembered I'd gotten halfway through only to have to close out and go to a doctor's appointment. I'll definitely check out Monty. Star Wars is awesome...I remember seeing the first one in 1977 (I was all of 8 years old) and absolutely fell in love. I made my mother take me to see this movie 7...yes SEVEN....times! I was hooked ever since. Predator or Alien? I like the Alien movies...the first one is a true classic as far as sci fi goes. However, there is something alluring about the Predator itself, if not the movie(s). I think it's the Predator alien's culture...survival of the fittest, hunters etc...I found it fascinating. I think I'll have to go with Alien though. That monster was damn scary. Here's something from TV: Battlestar Galactica (the original) or Buck Rogers?

LOL Sorry guys, I gotta go with Monty Python and Star Trek.
The rest, I haven't seen, read, been interested in, etc. Though I might even be able to swing enough interest to pick Alien over Predator. I remember me n the maternal unit watching alien movies back when I was a youngun. GROSS. LOL
Silly pregnant coworkers are either amused or annoyed when I compare their impending birthing to that little alien monster springing out of that guy's gut. BAHAHAAHA.....
Edit: DOH, forgot one. Pirates, also.
Edit Edit: Crap, forgot to keep the ball rolling. Um... Goldfinger or Goldmember? LOL

I'd choose Goldfinger for Connery, but member for the humor.
Dammit! Forgot again! Harry Potter or Lord of the Ring?

Lord of the Rings all the way my dear Max I can honestly say I have not watched a single Harry Potter flick (Well, the first one I've seen only bits and pieces.) Lesseeee..... "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" or "The Shining"? (I know, no relation whatsoever except Jack Nicholson...well wait, he WAS nuts in both movies so yeah....)

You're murdering my spirit, Ama. NO HARRY POTTER, AND YOU LIKE TWILIGHT?! C'mon, man!
Anyway, The Shining. By far one of the scariest stories I've ever read or seen.
Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers?

Sorry!!! It's not that I don't like Harry Potter, just never watched them. I also have the books, but never got around to reading them...perhaps I should, since you were so right about The Hunger Games. I'm going to pick Saving Private Ryan. I didn't see Band of Brothers, actually. I'll put that on my list too. Here's another something from TV: Dark Shadows or True Blood?

Yaknow, Harry Potter actually started off a a fun little flick to watch. Unoffensive, light hearted, but not obnoxiously kiddish, I think. Then it turned all dark and twisted and creepy, and of course the angsty love crap had to get tossed into it just cause the characters were getting older. An entertaining family oriented story/movie/plot/etc doesn't necessarily have to go through every raging hormone just because. If they'd stuck to the friendship part of it, and developed the more fantastical parts - like, how many times can you wave a stick around and yell the same two spells over and over again? It's like IFGS on steroids - it would have been awesome all the way through to the bajillionth movie.
Remember the IFGS games, Ama? LOL
Except with Lord of the Rings, I couldn't stop making fun of Legolas through the ENTIRE TRILOGY. Just ask Larethiel, I think she was about to strangle me every time I called him Prancy Pants....
And I'll have to go with The Shining.
I'll leave the last one to the folks who watch those shows. ;D
