My first tie necklace. The next ones should be much better looking because I know how to make them now.

Cool. My wife does beadwork. What kind of beads and stringers are you using? What is the knot bead?

This is more of a business venture at the moment than a hobby, but as a child, I loved beading. Kif - I used Blue Moon's glass seed beads, 20 gauge beading wire to create the tie frame, 28 gauge beading wire for threading. I'm not sure what you mean by knot bead. If you mean the big blue bead, then I don't remember what it was called, I threw away the tag.

Yep, I called the big blue guy the knot bead.
How big is the tie from top to bottom?

6 inches, but I just made another that is 4 inches and it looks just fine, if not a little better.

Beaded lanyards are really popular at my work, for our ID tags. I used to sell 'em for 10 bucks--15 for double stranded ones. If you don't have anyone who would buy lanyards with the ID tag ring, you could skip the ring part and just make long necklaces, too. Super easy, and little old ladies go nuts over 'em. LOL
