So we have guns and those who collect them. My collections are a bit less violent, perhaps a bit corny...but I want to share anyway. I see it as a way of getting to know me (and each other) better. Things I collect include: tiny salt and pepper shakers, fairies, small animal figurines, little pewter things... Here is a pic of my newest additions. I found these at the Cracker Barrel store last week. Love them...they're just SO cute. I'll have more to share too. So...what else do you collect??? Pics? I'd love to see!

SHROOMS! My dear mother collects dolls. Those really high quality, somewhat pricey, movable fancy schmancy not-for-children SilkStone Barbie dolls. I don't think I'll be sharing pics of them, cause I'm totally not a doll fan, myself, but just thought I'd toss that out there for fun.

I really don't collect anything except a few pieces of junk.
Such a boring life....

LOL You, boring? Doubtful. lol
I used to collect model horses when I was younger. Those Breyer horses? Had tons of 'em. The folks always had horses, and I was fortunate enough to get in on that at an age where I remember my first pony. Rotten little shit, he was a barrel racer named Smokey's Bar. LOL
So my horse collection turned to a gun collection. The only other thing I have now is a few pieces of justice-y type stuff that goes with my profession. Have a little statue of Lady Justice (why I always like Hime Themis' avatars), a crystal cube with a laser cut of a set of scales on the inside of it, um... a gavel packed away somewhere so it doesn't get broken...
Oh and a funny doll my brother sent me, of Harley Quinn, because she looks like a court jester. LOL
Oh oh, and a "court jester" type nutcracker for Christmas.
I know "court jester" isn't quite the same, but still....
That reminds me, I actually have a small collection of nutcrackers. I do really like nutcrackers. Maybe I collect more junk than I give myself credit for... >.>

When I was young, I used to collect non-gun weaponry... we're talking swords, daggers, flails, maces, etc. etc.
All that metal gets effing heavy when you're moving around in college. I sold most of the crappy replicas to a crazy kid who I "stole" my first long-term girlfriend from. We lasted 2 years... I doubt he could say the same about the battle-axe I sold him. He was crazy, but he was also terribly out of shape and scared of me. True story.
All that's left are my period pieces (non-replicas), plus one functional 420 stainless modern katana for self defense.
Current collection: - WW1 German Soldier's Trench Knife w/ original metal sheath (needs more oil than the tin man) - WW2 British Commando Dagger w/ original leather sheath in awesome condition... the sheath less so - Civil War Union Cavalry Saber almost certainly used in combat not in the best of condition and probably restored poorly at least once - 1939 Japanese Wakizashi (short sword) -- I don't even look at this thing the wrong way and keep it locked up at my father's house

Phae, you reminded me about something else I collect. Ren garb...etc. I especially like daggers and swords. This was my first purchase, many years ago...crafted by Starfire. Yes, I wear this with my bodice It must remain peace-tied however, during the festival...and it's really heavy to carry but then everything I wear at the Ren faire is heavy.

A challenger appears! Hi there! My brother used to collect coins, matter of fact. And as a courtroom clerk, we LOVE pens. If you ever manage to snag pics of those collections, that'd be cool.

Take a picture of your knowledge and send it to us please Max Ama: Pretty dagger. I had a couple nice ones like that too, but sold them... just not an easy thing to collect when you move every year or so. So I've always wanted to know... is a bodice like a corset, or something completely different? I go to renn faires at least once a year, and haven't figured that one out.

Thank you Phae. Starfire is supposed to be very good...and I've had it for quite some time. I do like daggers, wish I had the funds to purchase more. As for bodice vs. the corset...from what I can gather (and I shall provide visuals ), the corset is more of a shaping tool for the feminine waist area, where as the bodice is more of a full (or somewhat full) torso covering. Needless to say, they both work extremely well at pushing up the female breast area quite nicely. Allow me to demonstrate: Corset: And I SO want this. Only $120 at Dark Knight Armory www.darkknightarmoury.com/Bodice: Corset: Enjoy!!!! Bodice: Are you seeing the difference? Basically I'm thinking the corset does not have sleeves and perhaps sits lower over the bosom. Perhaps someone else could explain better? lol

I got this much: And I'm a little disappointed. When you said you'd demonstrate, I thought you meant pics of YOU in these things.

Ohhh thank you for that! This explains it perfectly! And...hahaha...I didn't think you would appreciate me posting a pic of my bewbies all pushed up and stuffed with everything from my car keys, cell phone, quarters and dollar bills! hehe I carry everything that I can't fit into my pouch...in my bodice when I'm at the faire.
