I'm STILL struggling with the GoT series...I made the mistake of watching the show on HBO before reading the books, and to see Drogo and Eddard die was just...too disappointing. I've been on page 246 since...oh...months ago. lol Since then I've been immersed in other nooky books. The Hunger Games....SOOOO awesome, (thank you again Max). You should read it. Also, Under The Dome by Stephan King was excellent. It's a huge book but well worth the read.
What I'm reading now...since I've finished the vampiry romance, historical romance books from a couple weeks ago..."The Greatest Knight" and "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" as well as Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol".
I'm considering some Star Wars novels...have never read one. Any suggestions?

I read a few Star Wars. Not big into it, but what I read, the Thrawn Crisis, was good. You MUST read The Lost Fleet series by Jack Campbell. Science fiction at its best and least nerdy. (Not to say that's bad. Just sometimes it can get real corny.) If the future has space war fleets, this is how it would work.
Also, just about any Michael Crichton novels, God rest him in peace, are worth your time.

ah, star wars, a subject dear to my heart If you haven't read much star wars, you should start with the books that happen ABY (After the Battle of Yavin) like max said the Thrawn series by Timothy Zahn are AWESOME!!! I would also recommend the X-Wing series, Legacy of the Force series, and the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy. All very, VERY, good star wars series to get you started. And if you read all those, I can recommend tons more ;D And if you want to read some clone wars era novels, to get a good foundation before starting into the ABY books, you should definitely read Republic Commando: Hard Contact, Republic Commando: Triple Zero, and Republic Commando: True Colors, Republic Commando: Order 66. The commando books are probably my most favorite books, and I've read them I don't know how many times. I don't know if you'll enjoy them as much as me Amarynth, I'm more of an action guy but there is a little romance in it, just a wee bit . It's basically a clone trainer trying to save his clones from a accelerated death.

Thankfully I made myself finish Game of Thrones and the rest of the books in the series before I watched the show on HBO.
I've already ready Hunger Games, Mockingjay and Catching Fire. Great series and the Hunger Games movie is coming out in March.
Anything by Michael Crichton is great, especially Sphere and Congo. The Jurassic Park series is great, even if you have seen the movies... they are not quite the same.
Terry Goodkind's The Sword of Truth series is fantastic. Best I've ever read. It's a 12 book series so make sure you are ready for a commitment.
Orson Scot Card's Ender's Game/Shadow series is fantastic as well.

Might be tempted to see that Hunger Games movie, out of morbid curiosity. Haven't read 'em yet tho.

Personally, I like to read the books before I see the movie. (That's the mistake I made with GoT...watched the first season first.) Twilight, I read the entire series within three weeks, same with The Hunger Games and I'm hooked. hehe Btw...The Hunger Games count down is on!

Okay, I don't watch The View too often, but since I'm stuck home nursing my swollen, painful knee I seem to have some time on my hands. Bill O'Reilly was on, promoting his book "Killing Lincoln"
The ladies asked him to tell them something that will not/was not taught in history class, and he said that John Wilkes Booth was engaged to a woman who was actually cheating on him with Lincoln's son; and that was part of what enraged him. I found that interesting, because I had never heard that.
Yep. I downloaded it onto my nook. Yep, I'm going to read it.

Angels' Blood, by Nalini Singh.... zomg this book is fabulous, if you're into fantasy/paranormal type romances, which I am. And have I told you that I absolutely, positively, most enthusiastically, lustfully, completely and eternally LOVE my new nook HD+
