The movie is coming out next year. This book helped shape my life in many ways. The whole series is more important to me than Harry Potter and the Inheritance quartet combined. What are your thoughts on the movie? Will it completely flop and destroy any hopes of seeing the rest of the story (like Eragon) or succeed in a way not many literature based films do (like HP/Hunger Games)?

I'm going to have to look into this...

I can only hope all we ever see is Ender's Game -- I mean, I hope it's awesome. Ben Kingsley as Mazer Rackham, Harrison Ford as Col. Graff... how bad can it be? But Speaker for the Dead was barely readable, and Xenocide made me cry that I had ever read the original. Will be looking forward to this move all the same

Really? I honestly preferred Speaker and the subsequent series. I thought it showed how well the world aged. Like a fine wine. I honestly enjoyed the philosophical ideologies that were explored in the series. Like what it means to be alive and what the soul is.

It became a front for OSC's increasing involvement in the Mormon faith. I read a sci-fi book in Ender's Game... by the time he wrote Xenocide, it became a series of theological treatises. Interesting in their own right, but not what I was hoping to read.
