As it is, I, too, am a Star Wars fan. However, I am limited in literature post- pre-movie book. I have read the Thrawn Crisis series, but it was a while ago. I have limited knowledge of the timeline from multiple reference books when I was younger. I mostly focus on the movies.
Regardless, I happen to "like" Star Wars on Facebook, and I saw perhaps the most relevent question that faces fans today.
Who would win in a duel: Darth Vader, or Master Yoda?
With 9,200 likes, 655 shares, and a whopping 5,760 people commenting, it brought about a storm of fanatics.
I pose the same question today. Discuss.

Wow...that's a hard one. Darth Vader is pretty bad ass, but Yoda is THE Master. Master Yoda also has vast experience on his side, hundreds of years if I remember correctly. The forces of good and light win almost everytime yes? However, Darth Vader is evil and sometimes evil does prevail over good. Well, Darth Vader isn't so much evil as he is misguided.... So who would win, you ask? I say Princess Leia will kick all their asses!

You need you star war's pin max At the height of his power, I would say Vader would win. Yoda is never really the same after order 66. The death's of all his Jedi truly crushed him, as we saw in the battle between him and sidious. On the other hand, Vader only got more powerful after order 66. I mean, Vader spent years hunting down any remaining jedi and killing them all. Remember, the jedi who survived were either extremely lucky, (for instance: Obi-Wan's escape from his clone troops, and also those jedi who were working with Clone Commandos escaped because the commandos choose to help the jedi escape.), or else they were extremely skilled. Vader has experience defeating some of the best master's the jedi order had to offer. Also, the Darth Sidious was always on the look-out for a more powerful force user than vader and never found one except luke. Dispite Vader being more machine than man he was still the most powerful force user until luke.

Depends on when Vader theoretically would fight Yoda.
Post turning, pre-Vader-barbeque? Tossup. Vader wouldnt have the sheer anger at Obi-Wan fueling his power; but he also wouldn't have the overconfidence leading to his becoming lava-bait. I'd say Yoda would likely win totally should Vader become overconfident. Yoda would not have left Vader to burn alive.
Post-Barbeque, post Yoda vs Palpy? Vader wins; even if he's not as powerful as he was before being barbequeued. Yoda's whole worldview was crushed by Palpatine. By (Yoda's) leadership; the Jedi Order prepared to refight the last war with the Sith; not the Order that Bane created.
IIRC in the novel; Yoda's own thought - he cannot defeat Palpatine. He'd already lost before the battle started. After Palpy puts Vader in the suit; Vader's own thoughts say he cannot defeat his master.

If we're talking like, New Hope era, Vader.
If we're talking whining Anakin-vader era, Yoda.
But in any case, Han Solo.

I'm going to wait a bit before I render my own opinion, but wasn't Vader going to destroy Palpatine regardless of finding Luke? Isn't that the Rule of Two that Palpatine followed?

However Vader post-barbeque would be absolutely demolished by Palpatine. Lightning+electronics keeping you alive = Dead Vader hands down. Had Luke Turned; Vader+Luke might have taken out Palpatine. MIGHT. Now, non-crippled Vader vs Palpatine would be an epic fight. Palpatine even wanted Vader to win that one. Never happened though

I like Conred's answer. Definitely Spock. But what if we put the Predator in the mix?
