Thanks ConRed! Yep, I'm in NY. Halfway between NYC and Albany...kinda in farmland, along the Hudson in the middle. lol From what I hear, NYC and NJ are getting slammed and the storm hasn't even had landfall yet. (The eye I guess?) They evacuated parts of NYC because they are expecting severe flooding from the storm surge. I've got some gusts of high wind, some misty rain but nothing significant yet. I'm tempted to take a ride down to the river to see if it's swelled yet, we're anticipating that definitely....and I have some creeks nearby that swell when it rains, causing flooding so we will see. It's been crazy seeing all the people prepare...cleaning off the store shelves, buying up gas etc...I think I'ma definitely get a generator after this though. I hate losing power. I'll try and snag some storm hunter pics for you and post them while I still have electricity..

Here's hoping Ama's half-tank of gas lasts her until the gas stations can get powered and re-supplied over there. @.@

The gas stations must have gotten a delivery last night, because they were all pumping gas this morning while I was driving home from work. It's utterly ridiculous how people were acting this weekend. I heard that the majority of the people who were lined up at the stations this weekend, stockpiling on gas, were people who were afraid that NYC and NJ people were heading up here to stockpile gas themselves. I don't know...in either case, this past week-end panic was so unnecessary. I mean, we didn't even get hit as hard as the coastal areas did. Which brings me to another point...Rand said that there's only been minor coverage about the hurricane out west? I'm telling you first hand, from what I've seen on our news coverage...it is bad. People are homeless, without power, food...and it's cold out here. I can definitely compare this to Katrina, even though I don't think the death rate is as high. What I'm getting at is...please give if you can. Find a charity...Red Cross is your best bet I think...and do what you can to help these people get back on their feet. We have another Nor-easter coming on Weds too...just what the east coast needs.... :/
