My first contribution woop! Firstly im British and the English government has just allowed gay marriage in churches. im not a religious person and do not see any problem in gay marriage, we are all human BUT and a bit BUT! why do gay people need to get married in the house of the lord. the Lord apparently sees being gay as a sin so why should religions be forced to bless people committing a sin in their religion. I find it a bit controlling / badly managed communist state style to force churches into allowing gay marriage but apart from that im all ok with gay marriage as long as churches actually agree with the whole affair, other wise its just not cricket!. I hope im not being offensive, im not wanting to be

Some of my FB friends are awesome. lol
One of my supervisors at work:
My best friend from college:
A few others shared other positive messages and funny memes.
And as somewhat expected, many of my fellow conservatives were somewhat less than positive.

It's about stinking time too. It's always funny looking at the names of the organizations that opposed SSM. At least a few have the words freedom in them. Freedom to do what, to impose your beliefs on everyone? In the future, society is gonna look back on this and say, "Wow, you guys actually outlawed that!??" in the same way that we look back on the 50's for outlawing interracial marriages. Funny shtuff.

I liked that the word liberty was used in the opinion.
It wasn't that long ago (and in my lifetime if not you young whippersnappers) that in many places, marrying someone of a different race was illegal. And it was assumed that those of mixed blood were the less socially approved race most of the time.
Even 20 years ago, in some neighborhoods in otherwise liberal communities, people looked on their neighbors with disgust.
The GLBT community has a tough road ahead but this is a milestone.
and to support those kids Randalla mentioned might I suggest a donation to itgetsbetter.org
