This is worth the long watch. It's not from your typical biased media.

We will never know what actually happened that night. If that Zimmerman guy actually did get attacked. which his injuries do support him getting the first couple blows to his face, then it was totally self defense. Race has NOTHING to do with this. If Zimmerman actually murdered him like everyone says, then he deserves to rot in jail. This whole race card is pure crap. just pure crap. I thought race was a 30's, 40's and 50's thing. not for 2013. Out here a school district is going to pay tuition and bus fair to put kids in another school district because they are unaccredited. Everyone in the school district out here don't want those kids because it is the most violent school district where those students are coming from. And yet everyone from the other district is pulling the race card. WTF PEOPLE!?

Was wondering if anyone on this BBS would approach this subject because I find the public reaction to the Zimmerman verdict very disturbing. I don't have time to view your link right now so can't make a specific comment until I do.
In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a member of the NRA and have very strong opinions in favor of the 2nd Amendment and Florida's gun laws.

Nobody knows the whole story except Zimmerman. No real witnesses, lots of politics, lots of the race card played by the media and the family. (They even had to coin a new term "White Hispanic".) And now DOJ is gettting their knickers in a wad about it.
Lots of losers in this trial all around. Lots of blame to go all around. I believe that both Zimmerman and Martin are both partially to blame. How much to each we will never know or prove.
The media is the biggest source of blame IMO. Doctored recordings. Lots of pictures in the papers of cute little Trayvon at 12, not the 17 year old man he was. Yellow journalism at its best. And of course OBummer has to chime in that his son would look like Trayvon.
The only racism I saw was Trayvon calling Zimmerman a "Crazy ass Cracker".

Just got done viewing the video. First thought that comes to mind concerning the ongoing race baiting in the mainstream media is; Never let facts get in the way of a good emotional outburst. For the most part, I agree with the video. But to be as objective as I can, I had a problem with several of his statistics. Quite a few added up to 116% or 114%.
Now, if you're trying to use statistics to support your viewpoint, the last thing you want is to have the total of the various statistics you're quoting to add up to more than 100%. To me that implies you have been very selective about which statistics you're choosing to support your argument. Brings back an old cliche: "Figures don't lie but liars figure."
Up until he began quoting statistics, I was in agreement with his presentation of what probably occurred that night. As I stated in my previous post, I'm sympathetic to Florida's gun laws and I live in Orlando. I'm a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and the right to self defense and a person's right to meet force with force. But although I'm biased, I do try to be objective. It's not good form to support one's arguments with statistics that don't add up.
Other than the statistical aberrations, I completely agree with his final statement. I believe there is a massive effort by those in power to misdirect the American people from what's really going on in our halls of power. Seems like every week, there's a new scandal brought to light by the media. While important in each instance, they don't hold a candle to major international events that potentially threaten the survival of our nation.
What better way to conceal the IRS scandal denying tax free status to conservative PACs, the DOJ investigation of the AP and Fox News, the Benghazi massacre, and the DOJ's ill fated fast and furious gun running scheme which resulted in the murder of one of our border guards than to facilitate a full blown race war in the United States? Oops, almost forgot our nation's $16 trillion debt.
I'm a resident of Orlando, Florida. One of the local radio stations; 96.5 FM WDBO had gavel to gavel coverage of the trial. I was able to listen to about 40% of the trial during the day while at work. Our Justice system prevailed. The rule of law was followed and upheld by the not guilty verdict. That's not to say that Zimmerman was innocent or morally right. But he was charged with 2nd degree Murder. The state couldn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman committed 2nd degree murder. Because of this, the jury acqutted Zimmerman which is what the rule of law demands. No matter how you want to portray it, Justice was served. It should also be noted that once again the state of Florida overcharged a defendant. State vs. Anthony anyone?
We can get into a philosophical discussion about the moral issues. But from the beginning, this case was political. Had nothing to do with actual Justice. The proof is in how the resutlting protests have evolved from originally being "No justice, no peace" to now being protests against "Gun violence". The perpetrators of these protests have had a political agenda all along and they are using race baiting to cover up their true intent. Which is to try and yet again take away the 2nd Amendment rights of American citizens.
Just as they tried to use the tragedy of the massacre at Sandy Hood elementary to take away the rights of law abiding citizens, they are now using the death of Trayvon Martin to attempt to do it again. One has to wonder why the Federal government is so intent on disarming law abiding American citizens. I just wish there was as much attention paid to the gun related murders of blacks in President Hussein's hometown of Chicago. But I'd be willing to bet no one reading this diatribe can name one black child murdered in Chicago by a firearm without researching it beforehand. Over 500 gun related homicides in Chicago in 2012, most of the victims were black and there's no public outcry?
One black killed by a WHITE hispanic(never heard that description before) in Sanford, Florida in 2012 and all hell breaks loose. Somebody please explain to me that this outcry is about justice and not politically motivated. Then explain to me why law abiding American citizens are supposed to be punished instead of gangbangers and the mentally ill.
BB (Appalachian American) If we can have African American, Hispanic American, White Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans. Why can't there be one Appalachian American?

Since I'm FINALLY getting to read the rest of this thread while I'm still waiting for the damned inmate bus to get here (they're late again for the third time this week--oh that makes it every day they've been late, wow! ::mutter: ... If you're scared for your life enough that you have to pull out your gun, there's no such thing as a warning shot, you're in a LOT more danger of hitting someone accidentally off in BFE when you're firing off random wild warning shots. I think she should have shot his ass, too, and the difference in the treatment of not just these two cases, but so many others that actually DESERVE the outrage, there's no excuse for it. Let's see what happens to the little asshole thugs who shot that little baby in his stroller in front of his mother, now. Or the group of scumfucks who tortured, raped and beat a man and his wife to death. Or the batshit lunatic woman who kidnapped a little boy, tied him to a tree and burned him to death, beyond recognition, with a blowtorch. Or the assbag who killed a teenage girl and stuffed her in a trash can. Aside from the media being scum sucking fuckwads in their own right, there's a common thread between those cases that aren't getting near as much media blowup and outrage, and I'll let you guess what that other thread is.
