Okay, so I have a question that I know has been asked on a ton of other forums, but I have to ask your guys opinion: Who is the most powerful force user of all time??? I'm in the Luke Skywalker group. Luke is a direct decendant of Anakin, who had the most midicholrians ever, and he was taught by Yoda and Obi-Wan. Not only that, but he masters both the light side and the dark side of the force, giving him complete mastery and understanding of the force. And while he was a new master, defeated the reborn palpatine in lightsaber combat, something even yoda failed at. Besides, Luke knows many secret force techniques, as is evident during the Darth Caedus crisis. No one better mention Galen Marek... lol

You mentioned *shudder* midicholrians... therefore your argument is null and void. Is definition.
The answer is Palpatine, who could only be defeated by Luke and Vader combined, and who sadly kicked Yoda's ass during the fall of the Republic.

You only have a force sensitivity because you have midicholrians. Therefore, the more you have, the greater your potential for power. And while Palpatine is undoubtedly the most powerful sith, he is not the most powerful force user. And remember, when Palpatine was defeat by Vader and Luke, Luke was barely a Jedi knight. Just think of the immense power he gains when he becomes Grand Master. As a testament to his awesomeness, Luke defeats ol'palpatine relatively easily the second time (Dark Empire trilogy). Vader without a suit would be immensely powerful though... But hands down Luke triumphs.

You only have a force sensitivity because you have midicholrians. Therefore, the more you have, the greater your potential for power. You don't understand. George Lucas destroyed something that was truly wonderful and mysterious about The Force when he introduced midicholrians -- it was like taking a childhood dream and smashing it into a million pieces for those of us who grew up on the original trilogy. Most people into Star Wars who are my age or older don't count midicholrians as true canon I can't count books I haven't read. I did read the Heir to the Empire trilogy written by my good drinking buddy, Timothy Zahn. Luke still wasn't more powerful than the Emperor in that canon. Palpatine was defeated by a Sith Lord AND the most powerful and fastest-progressing Jedi Knight in the history of the force... and he beat Yoda in what was mostly Yoda's prime.

I must admit, the site emperor is a close second... but then again, Darth Plagueis discovered how to make others immortal, and create life from midichlorians, and it didn't take a entire planet to do it.

Ah, I see where your coming from about the midicholrians I don't have diffeculty with midichlorians, but I have one with Ashoka Tano I can't count books I haven't read. I did read the Heir to the Empire trilogy written by my good drinking buddy, Timothy Zahn. Luke still wasn't more powerful than the Emperor in that canon. Palpatine was defeated by a Sith Lord AND the most powerful and fastest-progressing Jedi Knight in the history of the force... and he beat Yoda in what was mostly Yoda's prime. oh my gosh don't tell me you know Timothy Zahn?!?! I don't quite remember if palpatine was in the Heir to the Empire books, I seem to recall that was Thrawn's era. I think it comes down the this: Palpatine was certainly more powerful than luke at one point, but at the height of their power, Luke destroyed him.

I love the post and pre-series to the movies, but really, you should only focus on what George Lucas produced. His creation, his decision.
Including midichlorians. Now, high MC count doesn't meant best force wielder. I'd still give that to Yoda. The dude, I thought, could manhandle anyone he wanted should he be given his prime (which I also do not believe was during the fight between Palpatine.)

Somebody needs to write a book on Yoda. So little is know about him, and what he could do with the force.
Personally, I consider Yoda's duel with sideous to be a draw. Sideous could not defeat Yoda even while at his best. Yoda, on the other hand, couldn't defeat sideous because he was so distraught with the death of thousands of his Jedi. Had Yoda fought sideous on a good day, the outcome would have been different.

I concur. Yoda would have given a whipping.

Darth Revan, no argument.
He pretty much made everything in the future possible alone by his teachings.
Darth Bane created the Rule of Two which makes Plagueis possible in the first place. There wouldn't be an awesome Sith Order without Revan in the picture.
Jedi wise, Revan was still a great.
He mastered both sides of the Force and is one badass dude.

If by "know", you mean got shitfaced with him on absinthe at a gaming convention one time? Yeah, I think he signed my copy of Dark Force Rising when we came too and ate a massive eclair the next morning. MASSIVE eclair. My life would be exactly like Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, if not for all the weird sucky stuff to balance shit like this out Also, Luke was all like "you fuckers never introduced me to force lightning!!!" he wasn't doing shit without his father giving the old heave-ho over the strategically-placed pit that goes to the power core. So to say he destroyed Palpatine... ehhhh. Wasn't saying he was in HTE though... just that I hadn't read much past that in Star Wars stuff.

Umm....why has no one mentioned Leia? Just curious, as she is Luke's twin sister. Now I've only watched the movies, never read any of the books...but perhaps I should. Any thoughts on Leia?

Umm....why has no one mentioned Leia? Just curious, as she is Luke's twin sister. Now I've only watched the movies, never read any of the books...but perhaps I should. Any thoughts on Leia? Leia had the potential like Luke, but never trained or focused on her Jedi skills as hard as Luke, because she was far to busy with her life as head of the GA, and than as peacekeeper. She did become a Jedi knight, but that was about as far as she got. Basically, she only trained with Luke so she could protect her kids. She's not that interested in being a macho master either come on guys, all those people you listed where killed by their apprentices, so wouldn't that mean the apprentice was stronger?? Here's a brief list of the high profile people Luke destroyed(in no particular order): Person killed = Killed by/defeated byDarth Sideous = Vader and Luke the Reborn Emperor = Luke Abeloth = Luke Lady Lumiya, Aka Dark Lady of the Sith = Luke Supreme Overlord Shimrra Jamaane = Luke UnuThul (who had the same mind controlling powers as Vitiate, BTW) = Luke Gethzerion (who, I might mention, was so powerful that even palpatine feared her) = Luke Darth caedus, Aka Jacen Solo = Luke defeated him several times, but refused to ever kill him, fearing he would turn to the dark side from his anger at his nephew. And the list goes on. I could also give you some of the amazing powers luke has learned, but I won't bore you with them (but if I have to, I will )

And yet you have 900 years of mastery by who is considered the Greatest Jedi Master of all time. And he never died by saber of Force, but by natural causes.
